mixed media on canvas 25cm*25cm exhibited in the group show
23 at Modus Studios Brisbane
2001-
Acrylic/Oil/Mixed Media on canvas
These
paintings were executed in 2000-2001 and the exhibition titled
'Heroin Bear & Friends eat the universe by mistake' opened
at Rics Bar in Brunswick Street Brisbane on September 12 2001.
I dont need to tell you what happened the day before, but
as a result no-one seemed much interested in art, for at least
a year after that. I dismantled the exhibition early and packed
the paintings away. 2 years later a a private collector purchased
the 1st 3 below, the fourth, Heroin Bear himself, i retained.
There were originally 12 paintings of various sizes, I do
not have photographs of the others which are owned by various
private collectors.

- COLLAGE/MIXED MEDIA/COMPUTER SCANS/PRINTOUTS
Images
from this collection now form a little book Genetic System
Criminal which i circulated widely under the name Enon Yebo,
my grafitti tag from school in the 80's - i was paranoid about
the John Howard fellatio scene in image 11 below, now i dont
care.
(only the original 3 by 4 inch studies survive - the larger
works, 5 of which I had completed as almost exact replicas
80cm by 80cm on oilpaper were destroyed by water in the Townsville
flood of December 1997,along with 3/4 of my library, some
400 books, which swelled up like a toad when you hit it with
a golf club)

1995
- THE BLOW SERIES - OIL ON PANEL 100CM * 100CM
This
series of 4 were lost when I was evicted from a studio which
turned out to be a squat (i was paying a guy to use the space!)
I arrived on the morning of 31st October 1993, I remember
the date as I had just read about the death of film actor
River Pheonix in the newspaper in transit to my studio. The
door was boarded up, I lost all of my equipment, easels etc,
the 4 paintings below and a lot of other incidental paintings/studies
notebooksetc. The building was demolished, so either they
are now deceased or some builder has them somewhere. Also
lost was a 3 metre by 1.5 metre painting of the grim reaper.
A black metal band named Skropula had expressed interest in
using it for a future album cover.
